In December, I joined the ICOM team as an Administrative Assistant. My three main responsibilities are helping with the development aspect of ICOM, recruiting volunteers and assisting with bulk mailings in the office. I am humbled to witness many hands and many hearts to make ICOM possible to Encourage, Equip and Enlist missionaries for Kingdom service. ICOM’s prayers were answered recently with the merging of The Missions Network. This will help do two things. One, it will help further our knowledge of on-the-field activities and give us opportunities to share stories from across the world and highlight global missions within our network. The second thing is that we will continue to prepare and send out newsletters to missionaries. That is what part of my new role will be, helping put together the mailings for missionary newsletters and sending them out!
ICOM is like a huge puzzle of many pieces being put together throughout the year. A very important piece is the awesome group of volunteers that have served in many different ways. That’s how I got my start at ICOM – volunteering at conference! With the merge of The Missions Network, the mailings will greatly increase. ICOM is needing more volunteers who are willing to serve the Lord in this area. These mailings consist mainly of stuffing and labeling envelopes. Part of the time while working, we will listen to stories of missionaries on the field and also take time to pray for them.
If you or your friends want to serve, please contact me. I will be happy to be flexible with your days or hours of availability. The time and energy spent for this important piece of the puzzle will be greatly appreciated and also is a lot of fun!!!! ICOM is located in the little town of Hazelwood, Indiana but your volunteer service will have a huge impact on missionaries serving here and around the world. Our theme for this year’s conference is “TOGETHER.” We CAN do more TOGETHER to further the message of Hope of our Lord Jesus Christ.
