Over 90 Teenagers! Spiritual Youth Retreat:
La Cosecha, Eastern Dominican Christian Mission

Over the last month we have seen God move in great ways through one of our church plants named “Higuey Christian Church.”  Pastors Juan Diaz and Harold Diaz have done a fantastic job leading this congregation as we continue to see spiritual and numerical growth. Over the past month, Pastors Juan and Harold organized two large events to help bring their congregation closer to Jesus Christ.  Here is how they explain how God moved:

“On March 9th, we celebrated our 3rd annual Spiritual Youth Retreat.  This year the theme was “La Cosecha,” which means “The Harvest.”  God moved in mighty ways as there was an attendance of over 90 teenagers who helped lead each of the different activities throughout the weekend.  Pastor Jordany Castillo from La Romana Christian Church (and Brisas del Mar Christian Church) also attended the retreat and was accompanied by 11 teenagers from La Romana.  Haitian Pastor Antonio Ojeda participated as well and was accompanied by 6 teenagers from our Haitian church plants.

Throughout the weekend, we split the teenagers into nine small groups in order to study God’s Word in a deep and profound way. Pastors Harold Diaz and Victor Hernandez (La Romana Christian Church) preached the Word in a powerful and meaningful way and challenged all participants to “be workers in the Harvest.” They believe the “harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few” and that we need to always be making disciples of Jesus Christ.

God moved in a mighty way through the worship time, teaching time and small group time. During the retreat, God moved in the heart of a man named Arismendy Bulu.  Arismendy decided to give his life to Christ and be baptized. Therefore, we changed our clothes and headed to the pool that was at the retreat center and baptized Arismendy. This was a great moment for all in attendance.”
